PRECISION MANUFACTURING FAQ'S

  • How do I get a quote?
    Simply complete the get in touch form on our contact us page. Once you have sent us your specification or requirements, we will submit you with a quote for your work.
  • What formats of the files can you accept?
    We can accept most 3D file formats. We can also use 2D drawing to quote against for parts with simple requirements.
  • Can I state to supply my own materials for quote and production?
    Yes, we allow all our clients to supply free issue materials for quote and for production if needed. However, we must validate the quality of these materials against the desired end-use and integrate it into the manufacturing process to produce excellent parts to the specification required.
  • How do I place an order as a new customer?
    Simply ask us to process your quote, new customers will require payment in advance through a proforma invoice, we except BACS payments or card payments in person.
  • How do I set up an account?
    A new accounts form can be requested by contacting us. Once a new account is set up Quality Machining Services you can then place your order. All our accounts come with a payment term of 30-days from invoice.
  • Are lead times quoted in calendar days or working days?
    Our lead times will be being quoted in working days, 5 working days per week.
  • Can I cancel my order during the production?
    Yes, you can do so. But customers will need to pay for the cost of the materials and work we have done. Quality Machining Services will be happy to supply photo evidence of the work completed upon request.
  • Can I revise my model or drawing during the production?
    Only parts available for changes will be accepted during the productions. For example if you would like to add another threaded hole this would be okay, but not if you would like to move a hole.
  • What areas do you serve?
    For machined items we are happy to collect or deliver to anywhere in the UK with courier services. For on-site work we remain within 60 miles of Grimsby.
  • Do you have a minimum or maximum quantity?
    No, we are happy to manufacture a one off part or up to as many as is required.
  • What are the largest parts you can manufacture without moving?
    Our largest CNC lathe will turn up to 570mm diameter by 3m long and our CNC Milling machine will take a 1.5m long item by 600mm wide being able to machine up to 550mm high.
  • What is the heaviest item you can move?
    We have the capacity to move items up to 3 tonne with a fork truck.
